A series of photographs taken within Google Street View of Disneyland Resort Paris, where what’s real is blurrier than the fake landscapes and characters that surround.
Did you know that Google Street View has mapped the inside of Disneyland Paris? In Blurheads In Disneyland, I collected photographs via Street View: Google algorithmically blurs the faces, ghosting out humans and making them less real than the fictitious characters they’re posing with or the artificial landscapes they’re standing behind. Sometimes, Google mistakes the fake for the real. Sometimes, it misses them both all together. In a desire for increased visibility, the lines between reality and illusion become blurred, just as faces do.
